The craft of stained glass has had a tremendous resurgence of popularity in recent years. Today the evolution continues as Bernie & Max Stained Glass Studio makes this art accessible to anyone who appreciates the unique beauty of stained glass. Owned by award winning artist Bernie Evans, we are a family-operated business with a membership to the Art Glass Association.

I have a beautiful Eastlake Victorian home in the heart of Chillicothe whose splendor in craftsmanship has long since vanished in the home building "advancements" of the last 130 years. When I moved to Chillicothe in 2003 and was looking at homes in the area, the beautiful symmetry of the leaded glass panel in the front door sold me on the house even before I stepped into the home’s timeless elegance. In the next several years, with 5 children and several thousand aggressive door closings, the metal frame and soldering of the leaded glass panel that had greeted Chillicothe residents since 1881 began to break. I had a company specializing in glass remove the panel, make essential repairs, and place it back in my home's door. Within months, rambunctious children with no regard for such a treasure quickly caused new failures to the aged metal frame and soldering, so I had the leaded glass panel replaced with a new panel, and placed it in a safe location from those less appreciative than I. This past fall I was walking downtown Chillicothe and wondered in Bernie & Max’s place and was quickly greeted by people friendly dogs. After a generous offering of K9 affection, I spoke with Max who assured me that Bernie could work wonders and fix anything, so I carefully brought my century plus old leaded glass panel to Bernie. Within weeks, Bernie displayed the same artesian skill and craftsmanship and restored my piece of Chillicothe history to its original splendor.
